Old fashioned is one of my favorite classic drinks. It is made with whisky; usually, rye or bourbon, muddled sugar cube, bitters, and ice garnished with orange zest and cherry.

Other variations of Old Fashioned are also made with spirits like brandy, rum, tequila, absinthe, gin, and cognac. Old fashioned has a rich, intense, slightly sweet-bitter, aromatic flavor with hints of cinnamon and cloves.

2. Manhattan

Manhattan

Manhattan is another classic cocktail made with similar ingredients as Old Fashioned but doesn’t have the same flavor.

It’s made with whiskey- usually rye, sweet vermouth, and bitters. Manhattan is less sweet than Old Fashioned and has a smooth, slightly bitter-sweet, herbal flavor.

It’s usually served straight, stirred with ice, strained in a chilled cocktail glass, and garnished with a cherry.

Negroni is a classic cocktail you can enjoy as an aperitif.
